Community Development team support Govan Lyceum Trust

The Glasgow Life Community Development team has been instrumental in supporting the Govan Lyceum Development Trust SCIO as they work to secure the historic Grade A listed Lyceum Cinema through the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003.  

The Lyceum, a beloved local landmark since 1938, holds a special place in Govan's heritage. The trustees, with the help of the Community Development team, have been actively engaging the community, raising awareness of the project, and encouraging residents to get involved.  

Earlier this month, the team set up at Govan Shopping Centre, where their efforts led to over 500 signatures on a petition supporting the bid for community ownership, showcasing the community's strong desire to preserve this iconic and cultural significant building.
