Elaine C Smith takes new show to Glasgow Life community venues

Our arts and music team have supported a community tour by Scottish comedy legend, Elaine C Smith.

Elaine took her new show '65: An Audience with Elaine C Smith' to Castlemilk, Pollok, Barlanark and Knightswood Community Centres in March.

This allowed local audiences to see her new show before its performance at the King's Theatre during the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.

There were full houses at each venue with over 750 people attending. Tickets were £5 and the proceeds went to foodbanks which are local to the community centres.

The events were in partnership with the Glasgow International Comedy Festival as part of our year-round community touring programme.

Audience members called the show 'absolutely amazing' and the 'best night I've ever had.' Another person also commented about how it was low cost and great for the local community.
