Glasgow Life thanks our volunteers for their invaluable support

The 40th National Volunteers' Week (3 - 9 June) has provided a welcome opportunity to officially acknowledge the contribution made by over 6,000 volunteers who, during 2023/24, have supported Glasgow Life's work through our volunteer programme.

Our wonderful volunteers help us make a real difference to the lives of people in the city and its visitors - either at major events hosted in Glasgow or in regular roles supporting programmes we deliver through our venues and facilities.

We've been hosting a number of events to thank our volunteers and celebrate their achievements in our museums, arts and music venues, libraries and community facilities. And we've been making awards too to honour the many 'local heroes' who support our sports activities that benefit health and wellbeing across the city.

Our volunteers tell us they gain great satisfaction from being able to give something back to their communities and gain great satisfaction and enjoyment from their roles.

Glasgow Life colleagues can experience the benefits of volunteering through our Employer Supported Volunteering scheme. Some of those who've taken advantage of it include our HR team, who gave up time during National Volunteers Week to lend a hand in the garden at The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Bellahouston Park.

Our heartfelt thanks go to all those who support Glasgow Life by volunteering, giving their time to  offer invaluable support to our charity's work.
