We have updated our Flexible Working Policy and added a new section to the colleague information pages here:

Our Flexible Working Policy (previously known as Work Life Balance) enables Glasgow Life employees to have reasonable influence and flexibility over when, how and where they work, allowing a diverse workforce to combine their working life with their social, health, family, caring and other responsibilities.

On 6 April 2024, the Flexible Working (Amendment) Regulations 2023 came into effect to include the following changes, and our policy has been updated accordingly:

  • Employees have a day one right to request flexible working.
  • Employees are allowed two requests per 12-month period.
  • Employees no longer need to explain the effect their proposed work pattern will have on the business.
  • Managers must consult with employee if request agreed or not agreed.
  • Outcome required including appeal within 2 months, unless extended by agreement with employee.

Keep up to date with all Glasgow Life HR policies, forms and guidance notes on the colleague information pages of our website: https://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/about-us/colleague-information.
