Progressive Muscle Relaxation Video
When you have anxiety or stress in your life, one of the ways your body responds is with muscle tension. Progressive muscle relaxation is a method that helps relieve that tension. In progressive muscle relaxation, you tense a group of muscles as you breathe in, and you relax them as you breathe out.

Supporting your mental health at work
Able Futures
- Provide a work related mental health support service.
- The services is aimed at early to middle ground (mild and moderate) mental health issues such as burnout, sleep issues, fatigue, stress at work.
- It’s entirely free to access.
- Can provide 121 support from a coach, tailored to your own concerns. Same coach on a monthly basis for 9 months.
- It’s part of Access to Work and focus's on work issues primarily.
- No sign off from your GP is required to use the service.
- Self-referral is the main options to access the service but you can be signposted by Glasgow Life, or even friends or family members.
- Appointments usually takes place online but can also be arranged face to face. It can be 1 hour per month or 30 minutes every other week.
- The support plan could include help with financial stress, time management skills, stress and anxiety, mindfulness, healthy eating and drinking, anger management and reasonable adjustments.
