Soft City Exhibition

A poster for Soft City - a collaborative community soft sculpture of Sauchiehall Street.

Exhibition Information

Soft City is a community art project that explores the history of Sauchiehall Street and the stories of the people who visit it.

Through a series of chat ‘n’ craft workshops, participants worked with artists Alice Brown and Ellie Mills to create a soft sculpture model of Sauchiehall Street.

This will be on display at Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow on Saturday 15, Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 & Thursday 20 March before transferring to the Mitchell Library (ground floor) from Wednesday 26 March until Tuesday 15 April.

Soft City aims to diversify the voices who have a say in the regeneration of Glasgow's City Centre. The project aims were to engage communities in reclaiming their heritage and shared spaces by exploring the many reincarnations of Sauchiehall Street.

Using Feminist City thinking, together, they imagined what a safer, more accessible city centre could look like for everyone.

Opening Celebration

Join us on Saturday 15 March for the opening celebration between 1:00pm and 3:00pm at Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street, G2.

Come and chat about the work and celebrate making a big collaborative artwork. There is also a chance to reflect on everything that’s come out of this project.
