KITTI

Kitti, born in Paisley, is a musician and singer-songwriter who has been working in and around the Glasgow music scene from the age of 15.
Previously known as “Katie Doyle Quintet” or “Kitty”, she takes massive influence from great artists like Chaka Khan & Rufus, Aretha Franklin and Betty Davis, with a voice that evokes deep emotion and touches the heart of the listener.

Kitti gained 2 awards for her work in 2020 - that of “Best Female Breakthrough” at the Scottish Music Awards and “Best Jazz Vocalist” at the Scottish Jazz Awards, which she won once again in 2022. She has also supported the iconic Mavis Staples and Van Morrison in 2022 - and Rod Stewart at his Edinburgh Castle shows in 2023. Kitti was also a part of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra’s “Nu-Age Sounds” series that toured Scotland in March ‘24 and again in January ‘25.

With her well received debut album, "Somethin' in the Water", is out in the ether, she’s already making waves in Scotland and beyond.

SOLAS ENSEMBLE

Sòlas Ensemble were formed in 2022 and are made up of 4 singers who are all currently studying their MMus in Vocal Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Katie Carmichael, Caitlin Mackenzie, Euan McDonald and Joshua McCullough, share a depth of experience in choral singing.

They met singing in NYCOS, and have since independently been named as young artists with Dunedin Consort, Genesis Sixteen and the Edinburgh International Festival. Most recently Sòlas Ensemble were honoured to continue their work with Sir James MacMillan in a performance of two new works as part of an RCS octet, commissioned by the Cumnock Tryst Festival for their 10th anniversary concert.

JURA BRASS

Jura Brass is a brass quintet based in Glasgow, formed in late 2021. They perform regularly at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and have collaborated with BBC and BBC Radio Scotland. Currently in their final year at RCS, the quintet is made up of musicians from across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

SEAN CHOON

Sean Choon is not a chef. However, he does claim that music is "food for the ears". That gives him a loophole - so technically he is a chef then? At the very least, it makes him a weird arty farty musician. A prolific singer, drummer, and producer, Sean Choon has served his vibrant "Sonic Tasting Menu" across Glasgow in renowned venues such as Stereo, King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, and Rumshack, to popular acclaim and confusion. Eyewitnesses frequently report primal crowd chanting, operatic set pieces, and eclectic grooves as part of the menu. The menu is served alongside his enigmatic collective of multi-instrumentalist chefs - The Prawn Monsoon. There are no actual prawns involved though, so it's all nice and hypoallergenic. Sean is mildly allergic to lawn grass.

DUNCAN RITCHIE WITH RAE MACLVER

Duncan Ritchie is an accordionist, performer, composer, and arranger. He has performed across the UK and beyond, including at renowned festivals like Celtic Connections. Duncan's dedication to composing and arranging has earned him recognition, with his work featured on BBC's "Travelling Folk." in 2024.

Duncan will be joined on stage by folk pianist and BBC Radio nan Gàidheal presenter, Rae MacIver. The duo are currently students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, on the traditional music course.

TINA SANDWICH

Tina Sandwich's music is a circus of thunder and theatrics. Fusing classic rocks with all the romp and pomp of synthesised pop. From her rip-roaring debut on the main stage of Scotland's Belladrum festival, to selling out Glasgow's legendary King Tuts, Tina Sandwich and her band kick up a fuss wherever they go.

GIE'S PEACE

“Gie’s Peace”, a ukulele group primarily for immigrants and refugees, started in late 2023. The initial aims were to encourage language and social skills, and promote integration. Their aim is to combine voices from Brazil, Chile, China, Egypt, Eritrea, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Philippines, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, Somalia, Sudan, Ukraine, Venezuela, Uzbekistan and Vietnam into one through ukulele.

HELENA DE RIJKE

Helena first encountered the harp in France at the age of 19 and it was love at first sight. She received lessons at a conservatoire there before continuing her studies in Germany, eventually becoming principal harpist in several German opera houses and playing in operas, operettas, musicals and symphony concerts.

Next came England, marriage and three children, who she homeschooled alongside giving harp lessons. Once they got a bit older she resumed playing, in all sorts of venues.

After recently moving to Scotland, she is now enjoying life in her new home and playing the harp for her own pleasure!

GLAN

GLAN are a family band, consisting of Àdhamh Ó Broin - a musician with 25 years of stage experience, as well as a Gaelic language consultant, activist and tradition-bearer – and two of his prodigiously talented kids. They play a selection of traditional Scottish Gaelic songs and tunes, along with some of their own compositions, adding a folk-rock twist to traditional pieces.

ADNAN SHAMDIN

Adnan Shamdin a Kurdish musician from Syria, playing music with voice, bouzouki and bağlama. His journey began in 2000, when he left my home city of Qamishlo for Damascus, then Kurdistan. He lived in Erbil refugee camp for two years, before coming to Glasgow in 2015, learning English in classes at St Aloysius Church and the Garnethill Multicultural Centre. Adnan and Sam, the community organiser for this event, played together in 2016, and his father John helped him get to know musicians in the city. He has now toured in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Manchester.

KEJADENN ALBA

Kejadenn Alba is a music group that formed in 2025 with the goal of sharing the traditional sounds of Brittany. Initially coming together to perform for the Breizh Alba society, the group consists of musicians from Brittany, Québec and the US.

Their repertoire features traditional music from both the Gallo and Breton-speaking areas of Brittany, as well as Québec. The group incorporates singing and a variety of instruments, including piano, kantele, saxophone, cello, flute, and the unique Breton bombarde.

MISCHA MACPHERSON WITH ANNA MASSIE
