London-based Flyte comprises English songwriters Will Taylor (vocals, guitar) and Nick Hill (bass, vocals).
The duo met at secondary school after Taylor started playing at age 11. His parents were both English teachers, so inevitably, literary influences trickled into their music — the band even taking its name from Sebastian Flyte of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited.
After releasing three critically acclaimed albums, they’ve established themselves as an influential mainstay. 2017’s The Loved Ones earned the title “Best Britist Debut of the Year” from the Sunday Times, thanks to its crafted storytelling and ambitious, harmonic arrangements.
This Is Really Going To Hurt followed in 2021, with the band’s sound moving into a more simplistic and confessional mode, while their third, self-titled album explores love in all its early forms.
“Will and Nick are exceptional. They write emotive, personal songs and perform them with charm and delicacy.” – Discovery Music Scotland
