We are now taking bookings for our 2024-25 college programme, outlined below.
Sessions are available across all our museum venues for a range of courses including Support for Learning and ESOL. Other sessions, such as Employability Tours, Art and Design, and Social Sciences, are venue-specific.
Groups are also welcome to visit on a self-led basis but should book in advance to help us plan your visit.
University groups wishing a curator-led talk or tour on a specific theme will be put in touch with the relevant staff member to discuss further.

A hands-on session where students will explore museum collections
through group work and practical activities. Develops skills for learning, life
and work.
Themes and topics vary depending on venue and include:
- Pop-art printing at GoMA
- Expressions and Emotions & My Stories at Kelvingrove Museum
- Nature in Art and design at The Burrell Collection
- World Religions at St Mungo Museum
- Ancient Egypt at GMRC
- Transport and technology at Riverside Museum
- Tailored sessions based on the social history collections stored at Kelvin

1.5 hours, free of charge.
Students will enjoy interactive tours of the collections and take part in
practical activities aimed to develop written and spoken language skills.
These facilitated sessions are ideal for those at an intermediate or
advanced level.
Session content will vary according to venue visited. You can find out more
about the different collections here. Groups
visiting Kelvingrove Museum will be offered the ‘My Stories’ digital
experience.
1.5 hours. Cost per group: £35.
Available at GoMA, Riverside Museum or The Burrell Collection.
Take part in one of our Museum Employability Tours and find out about the jobs are involved in running a world-class museum service. Students will meet and chat to a range of staff, from front of house to behind the scenes. They will find out about different career choices available in the heritage or arts sector and the transferable skills utilised by staff.
1.5 hours, free of charge
A unique, digital experience for young people offering an inclusive yet interactive introduction to the museum.
Students work in pairs and explore the galleries using handheld devices, discovering more about the displays – and themselves – along the way.
Supports the development of skills for learning, life and work especially independence, team building and communication skills.
Suitable for National 4, 5 and Higher*
