Support to Set Up Walking and Wheeling Groups

Are you a constituted group or organisation that provides activities and support for;

  • Disabled people
  • People from minoritised ethnic communities

If so, Glasgow Sport would love to work with you to set up, or grow, Health Walks in your community.

Walking and wheeling is a fun, flexible, easy and free activity that can really boost everyone’s health and wellbeing.

We define ‘wheeling’ as the action of moving as a pedestrian supported by any wheeled mobility aid including wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walking frames and rollators.

We can provide a package of support for up to 10 organisations which can include;

  • Free Taster Health Walks
  • Free Tailored Walk Leader Training to suit your group’s learning needs
  • Free ongoing support and advice
  • Small grants to help get your walks started
