Active Health

Our activities help support you into physical activity, through working with trained advisors or finding the right activity level for you

Come along and enjoy the fresh air, meet new people and take in the sights of Glasgow's parks and gardens. ​​​

Lasting around an hour, Health Walks are easy, sociable and most of all good fun. Walk Leaders are on hand to encourage you to go at a pace you’re comfortable with and make sure you get the most out of your walk. All abilities are welcome, please bring a buddy if you need one to one support.

At Live Active, we’ll help you build the confidence you need to make positive lifestyle changes.

Our Live Active Advisors are with you every step of the way helping you stay on track and achieve your goals - leaving you feeling great and getting the most out of life.​

To get started, your GP or other registered health professional needs to refer you. You can usually get in touch with your GP practice over the phone and ask them to make a referral to Live Active for you without the need for an appointment.

People with medical conditions can have fun getting active with the support of our specially trained Vitality instructors.

Our fun and friendly Vitality classes have been specially designed for people living with a range of medical conditions. They are also suitable if someone has a fear of falling or find that strength and balance is impacting on daily life. 

We’ll help you choose a level of activity that best suits your needs, making sure you are safe, comfortable and above all else having fun.

Walking Football

Walking Football is open to all adults of mixed ability. The game provides you with the opportunity to improve your physical and mental wellbeing. It is also a great chance to socialise with like-minded people. Everyone is part of the team.

Sessions are £5 or free for Glasgow Club members. They can be booked as pay as you go up to 7 days in advance. You can do this either through the Glasgow Club App , Glasgow Club website, or contact the venue directly.

In partnership with Parkinson’s UK and Celtic FC Foundation, these sessions are designed specifically to help participants manage physical symptoms. They also aim to improve physical, mental and social wellbeing.

Participants should be able to:

  • Walk independently (unaided)
  • Stand from sitting (unaided)
  • Balance unaided (or with support e.g. from a wall or chair)

Sessions are free. They can be booked up to 7 days in advance. You can do this either through the Glasgow Club App , Glasgow Club website or contact the venue directly.

These sessions are designed specifically to help participants manage physical symptoms. They aim to improve physical, mental and social wellbeing.

After each session, our football memories programme provides participants with the chance to reminisce over refreshments.

A simple come-and-play session for adults over the age of 50. This is a great opportunity to keep fit, have fun and socialise at the same time as enjoying the game you love.

Lifestyle Badminton

Lifestyle Sports

Lifestyle racquet sports have a significant number of benefits on your health as you age, particularly on brain health. Improve and develop your quick thinking, reflexes, balance and hand-eye co-ordination skills – all vital in maintaining independence in later life.

Led by one of our qualified badminton coaches, this mixed session for adults of all abilities gives you the opportunity to play competitive and enjoyable sets of doubles.

You'll all get to know each other this way, encouraging an inclusive and sociable atmosphere for all.

This activity is included as part of the ActivClub membership, focused on low-intensity physical activity from unlimited swimming and fun, easy classes to coach-led sport sessions suitable for all abilities.

Evergreen Table Tennis is fantastic fun, letting you play at a comfortable level whilst improving Table Tennis skills and making new friends.
