Performance Management 2023/24 – half-year review
It is now time for Step 2 of Glasgow Life’s Performance Management cycle, the half-year review. Your half-year review should be completed by Thursday 30 November 2023.
You should have met with your line manager at the start of our operational year in April to agree individual objectives and discuss your development. As we approach the half-year point, it is now time to review your achievements and the progress that has been made so far.
This will involve a short discussion with your line manager to talk about how you’re getting on and to make sure you feel supported in delivering your role. You will also be able to ask your line manager any questions you may have about Performance Management and your own development. Please use the Mandatory Training Matrix to support your discussion and ensure that all your essential training is up to date as you discuss your wider development.
Performance Management provides the framework to focus our collective efforts on Glasgow Life’s priorities – aligning our individual objectives with service plans and the organisation’s overall vision, mission, purpose and values. All colleagues are working within the same three-step Performance Management cycle:
- Step 1 – Setting of objectives – completed by 31 May 2023.
- Step 2 – Half-year review – to be achieved by 30 November 2023.
- Step 3 – Full-year review including setting of objectives for the 2024/25 operational year – to be achieved by 31 May 2024.
Senior managers should continue to update the Performance Management progress for Grade 4 and above colleagues in the Performance Management shared drive. This information will be collated and reported to each service area throughout October and November. The system for tracking the activity for Grade 1-3 colleagues will continue to be the responsibility of each service area.
To remind yourself of the Performance Management process and what to expect at each stage, you can review our e-learning course on GOLD – search for ‘Glasgow Life Performance Management’. GOLD courses are fully accessible outside of the workplace and on personal devices, to provide easy access for colleagues who may not have computer access as part of their role.
Your line manager will contact you soon to arrange your half-year review discussion at a convenient time. Should you have any questions, please contact the HR Business Partner for your service area.
All supporting documentation for Performance Management can be found on the HR pages of the intranet.
