The stories of Glasgow's libraries are important to tell and share. Whiteinch Library has had a special place at the heart of the local community for almost a century. We’ve borrowed books, kept warm, used the computers, sung with our wee ones, studied for exams and much much more.

Join local author Alison Irvine for a celebration of our Whiteinch Library memories. Come along and tell your story in a fun and informal creative writing workshop on memory and place. All welcome. No experience necessary.

Alison Irvine is a writer of fiction and non-fiction. Her first novel, This Road is Red, was shortlisted for the Saltire First Book of the Year and her second novel, Cat Step, was a BBC Radio 4 Front Row Editor’s Pick. She is the writer in the artist collective Recollective and together they have documented a range of buildings and places including the Barrowland Ballroom, the Red Road Flats, Falkirk Town Centre and the East End of Glasgow, interviewing residents, and using photography, illustration and writing to record their stories.
