Celebrate our current Scott Myles exhibition Head in a Bell (open until 23 February 2025) with a day of free special events on Saturday 2 November:
Saturday Art Club special - Sound Lines
10.30am - 12.30pm
An interactive session with sound artist Robert Rizzi (Denmark), in partnership with Nordic Music Days.
You will discover unique lines, patterns, and shapes in our exhibitions and translate these visual elements onto paper strips. Your designs will then be transformed into music by punching holes along the traced lines and bringing your compositions to life using a music box. Experience how visual art and music can cross over as you craft a melody inspired by your surroundings!
A drop in activity for families with children aged 5 +. Booking is not required.

Scott Myles in conversation with Arts Curator Martin Craig
1.30 - 3pm
Get ready for a deep dive into Scott's exhibition as he discusses his process and influences with our curator Martin Craig, who curated Head in a Bell. A fantastic chance to learn more about the exhibition by hearing from the artist himself!

Synthbirds: A workshop for 18 to 26 year olds
2 - 4pm
Make your own SynthBird with Swedish Sound artist, Håkan Lidbo, at an event in partnership with Nordic Music Days.
Mixing DIY electronics, music and bird biology, you will make your own SynthBird, an electronic musical instrument. Håkan Lidbo will guide you through the process to put the circuitry together make your SynthBird tweet! SynthBirds sound through the interaction of light on a sensor – play with light to play your bird!Participants can take their SynthBirds home.
The workshop will start with a tour of the Scott Myles' Head in a Bell exhibition.
Free, recommended for young people aged 18 to 26.
