We are delighted to welcome author and journalist Kerry Hudson to the Mitchell Library for a timely discussion on why libraries matter more than ever.
Free access to libraries changes lives. More than “just buildings”, local libraries provide a welcoming multipurpose and multigenerational safe place to learn, connect, enjoy, discover, and unwind.
Offering everything from activities to advice, learning to leisure, resources to relaxation, Libraries have a crucial role to play in mitigating the impact of unprecedented complex social, economic and wellbeing challenges experienced by communities’ post pandemic.
In conversation
with Sean McNamara, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Library and
Information Professionals in Scotland, Kerry will advocate the social benefits
of public libraries and share the positive impact they have had in her own
life.
