Maisie Chan knew she wanted to be a writer for years before she actually put pen to paper. The fear of writing a 'bad story' made her not write at all. Now she writes for a living and has won a few awards.
What changed? Staring at a blank page can be daunting, even for seasoned writers. How can we overcome those voices in our heads that tell us that what we're going to write will be rubbish? Or that anything we write will have already been covered? How can we get words on the page and begin?
Join
award-winning author Maisie Chan for some gentle creative
writing exercises and tips on how to begin a story. She will look at
bringing fun back into writing and focus on characters and what elements we
need to create a compelling story.
Aye Write and Kavya Prize are pleased to provide support to any budding writer of colour to access these workshops at no cost.
To access your place in this class please email ayewrite@glasgowlife.org.uk to enable us using the subject line Kavya - Maisie Chan and we will get back to you.
