Mec Lir, a dynamic quartet from the Isle of Man and Glasgow, has captivated festival audiences globally since their debut at Brittany's Festival Interceltique de Lorient. Their music blends traditional Celtic sounds with electro synths and drums, with the fiddle at the forefront. Known for their fast-paced, energetic performances, they've played at renowned events like Celtic Colours, Shetland Folk Festival, and Celtic Connections 2022. Fronted by fiddle virtuoso Tomas Callister, their second album, Livewire, gained critical acclaim, topping the iTunes World Music charts. Mec Lir’s legendary live shows continue to electrify audiences worldwide.
Collaboration comes from Kinnaris Quintet and Four Men and a Dog.
The powerful, fresh and euphoric sound of Kinnaris Quintet makes them a must-see act. This fearless fivesome has sold out Celtic Connections time and again — get in quick to be utterly uplifted by their driving harmonies, technically dazzling arrangements, and sheer joy in abundance.
Four Men and a Dog is a traditional Irish folk band with a twist. Veterans of the scene, they first emerged in 1990 during the Belfast Folk Festival. The band blends vivacious, high-energy Irish 'trad' with rock, jazz, blues, bluegrass, swing, salsa, polka and even rap.
