In celebration of local screenwriters that have been coming to Scottish Screenwriters for the last 20 years. We want to introduce new local residents to the screenwriting community and help them learn the craft. 

Join us as we welcome newcomers into the screenwriting community and allow exploration, networking and engagement!

✍ Engaging in screenwriting allows individuals to express themselves, explore their imagination, and channel their emotions in a constructive manner. This creative outlet can be therapeutic and help individuals manage stress and anxiety.

Monthly meetups allows attendees to feel part of something bigger and to connect with others who share similar interests, values. Screenwriting often involves collaboration with others, such as fellow writers, actors, directors, and producers. This collaboration can foster a sense of community and belonging, providing opportunities for social interaction and support.

Completing a screenplay, even a short one, can provide a sense of achievement and boost self-esteem. Setting goals, meeting deadlines, and seeing a project through to completion can be incredibly fulfilling.
