This February marks the 20th anniversary of LGBT+ History Month, in recognition of this important milestone Glasgow Libraries are delighted to host two events celebrating LGBT+ families at the Mitchell Library on Saturday 15th February.

For our first event we welcome author and storyteller Rachel Plummer to share their magical new picture book The Big Day, which provides a joyful GIANT celebration of love in all its forms!

When one tiny human receives an invitation to the magical wedding of two giants, he joins witches, elves, unicorns and more to share in all the fun of the big day as the two grooms exchange vows and enjoy an other-worldly wedding feast. Rachel’s charming picture book sends a message to all: that love is just love, whether giant or small.

Come along to this fun, free inclusive family story session and listen to Rachel read The Big Day. The story will be followed by an interactive storytelling session where participants will make up our own magical adventure as a group, as well as creating some themed crafts. Expect a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with a lot of fun and as much joining-in as you feel comfortable with.
