This summer Glasgow Libraries are teaming up with the UCI Cycling World Championships to celebrate sport and the city with a series of 10 free city-wide author events and creative writing workshops discussing fiction and non-fiction sporting stories.
As part of this events programme we are delighted to welcome author Michael McEwan to Langside Library to discuss his fascinating book ‘The Ghosts of Cathkin Park’ which charts the demise of Third Lanark Athletic Club, one of the country’s oldest and most successful football teams.
In this insightful session Michael will explore the story of Third Lanark's final season in 1967, which over 50 years on, remains one of Scottish football's darkest hours.
