Opened in 1906, Parkhead Library offers a wide range of services and activities in relaxing, comfortable and inspiring surroundings. Our friendly staff will always be on hand to help you get the most out of your visits. With thousands of books and a programme of weekly classes and events, Parkhead Library has something for everyone.

Parkhead Hub 

In September 2019 Glasgow City Council approved £2.5million in funding to relocate Parkhead Library from the existing the Grade B-listed building to the proposed East End Health and Social Care Partnership Hub (HSCP) building.

The newly located library will continue to provide adult and children's library sections, also hosting services from Clyde Gateway, Macmillan, Jobs and Business Glasgow, and Citizens Advice among others.

Providing a ‘one-stop’ shop for an extensive range of health and social care services for adults and children, the thriving new hub will include welcoming community spaces for local residents and groups to use, a café, and the relocated Parkhead Library.

Located on the ground floor of the building, and creating a focal point for visitors, the bright and modern library will offer improved accessibility. It is due to open at 9am on Monday 20 January after the old building closes at 5pm on Saturday 18 January, ensuring continuity of services. Existing programmes and activities such as Bookbug, reading groups, school class visits, and other learning opportunities will transfer across to the new venue.
