About The City Halls & Old Fruitmarket
The City Halls is made up of the Grand Hall, Recital Room, Club Room and Candleriggs Bar. The Old Fruitmarket is part of the City Halls complex but it is its own separate space.
The City Halls is the oldest purpose built performance and meeting space in Glasgow. It underwent an extensive £15 million redevelopment which has enhanced the beauty of the original features whilst maximising and modernising the Halls' excellent multi-purpose facilities.
The Old Fruitmarket is a venue with huge character; with its lofty vaulted roof, listed cast iron columns, original signage, Festoon lighting and balcony. It is an incredibly versatile venue which can host a variety of events.

The City Halls & Old Fruitmarket is a multipurpose, flexible concert and conference venue with a vastly experienced team of staff available to make your event a seamless and enjoyable experience.
The venue is available for, but not limited to Weddings, Corporate & Private Hire, Conferences and Concerts.

Access for a Full Day Hire is from 08.00hrs, if an event requires earlier access from 06.00hrs, a surcharge of £125.00+VAT per hour applies
Building closing hours are event dependant, with the latest finishing time for a private event being 00.30hrs with the venue being fully clear by 01.00hrs
All catering is provided by Old Fruitmarket's in-house suppliers Encore Hospitality. Unfortunately, External or Self Catering cannot be accomodated.
Please note, there is no on site café bar open to the general public.
There is a range of AV Equipment that is on site for event hire. Equipment can also be sourced externally - POA.
The City Halls & Old Fruitmarket have a Team of Specialist AV, Sound & Lighting Technician to assist during events.
Clients can bring in their own AV Equipment or arrange an external supplier to provided it. All equipment must be is PAT Tested and an itemised list should provided in advance. We may require RAMs details as well.

The Grand Hall is a lavish formal auditorium with world-renowned acoustics, raked seating and balcony. It is the home of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and has played host to some of the worlds most renowned performers.
