At the end of January Ibrox Library reopens following refurbishment. For our first author event in this newly refurbished space, we welcome Crime Writers' Association Historical Dagger Winning author D V Bishop to Ibrox Library on Thursday 13th February to discuss his new novel A Divine Fury, the fourth in the popular Cesare Aldo mystery series.

In bestselling local author D V Bishop’s latest atmospheric historical thriller, a religious serial killer is haunting 16th century Florence and only Cesare Aldo can stop them.

Cesare Aldo was once an officer for the city’s most feared criminal court. Following a period of exile, he is back – but demoted to night patrol, when only the drunk and the dangerous roam the streets.

Chasing a suspect in the rain, Aldo discovers a horrifying scene beneath Michelangelo’s statue of David. Lifeless eyes gaze from the face of a man whose body has been posed as if crucified. It’s clear the killer had religious motives.

When more bodies appear, Aldo believes an unholy murderer is stalking the citizens of Florence. Watching. Hunting. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike again . . .

Ibrox library was designed by Rogerson & Spence and opened in 1981. The building originally had a children’s project room, community room, toilet for people with disabilities and public telephone. All of these areas are still in use to this day with the exception of the telephone. Ibrox was one of the first real learning centres in Glasgow to be created from the existing network of community libraries, officially opening in April 2000.
