Canntaireachd is a thrilling collaboration between multi-award winning singers and pipers Kim Carnie (Vocals), Kathleen MacInnes (Vocals), Brìghde Chaimbeul (Small Pipes and Bagpipes), and Ailis Sutherland (Small Pipes and Bagpipes). The quartet join forces with the formidable collective Staran to explore the deep and vital relationship between piping and Gaelic song.
Since first performing together, Canntaireachd (which means “singing” in Gaelic) has embarked on a journey to breathe new life into centuries-old melodies, tunes, and captivating stories. Infusing their performances with fresh, innovative material, this unique project promises a truly unforgettable female-led celebration of Scotland’s rich musical heritage.
