Internationally celebrated as a child prodigy, the foremost virtuosa of her time, wife of the troubled genius Robert Schumann and beloved friend of Johannes Brahms, Clara Wieck, mother of eight, a unique voice herself among the composers of nineteenth century Europe, was born two centuries ago this year. CLARA, a birthday celebration, brings together strands of this incomparable woman's life and loves.
