Come and coorie doon for an hour of story and song for children and adults. Jackie Kay will be reading from her first ever illustrated children's book Coorie Doon: A Scottish Lullaby Story (for 3-year-olds to 100-year-olds!) Legendary folk singers Suzanne Bonnar and Claire Brown will be joining to sing songs that feature in the story. A marvellous medley of song, Scots and storytelling... Enter the cosy world of Shona, a wee lassie who falls asleep each night to her parents' soothing lullabies — 'Tiree Love Song', 'Goodnight, Irene', and 'Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?'. Together, we'll follow Shona's journey through her dreams and revisit her as an adult, sharing the ritual of song with her elderly father. This gloriously lyrical picture book celebrates childhood lullabies, rooted in old Scots folk songs. Perfect for families with children aged 3 and over.
