Elephant Sessions and The East Pointers

Having played major festivals across the globe and previously been awarded both Live Band of the Year and Album of the Year at BBC Alba’s Scot Trad Music Awards Elephant Sessions return to the 02 Academy to make a special appearance at Celtic Connections.

From humble beginnings in the Highlands of Scotland, Elephant Sessions create a progressive blend of intricate tunes with mandolin and fiddle fusing with a backline of bass and drums that celebrates the very best in trad, funk and electronica. Creating a modern sound for a modern world, their brand of indie folk has graced some of the world’s best festivals including Glastonbury and their latest album For the Night stormed straight into the Official UK folk charts at No 3.

Opening the evening and JUNO Award-winners are The East Pointers. The dancefloor-shaking, electro-trad glorious combination of folk/pop sounds have already acknowledged them as musical trailblazers internationally with their 2023 EP House Of Dreams. Their debut album Secret Victory won the 2017 JUNO Award for Traditional Roots Recording of the Year. Their latest EP, Safe In Sound, was released in November 2023 and it too was a triple award winner at the ECMAs.
