Janice Hallet follows up
her best-sellers The Appeal and The Twyford Code with The
Examiner. Set among the mature students of Royal Hastings University's new
art course where an external examiner becomes convinced that a student was
killed on the course and that the others covered it up. But is he right? Only a
close examination of the evidence will reveal the truth.
Louise Welsh's To the Dogs also has
a University setting where Jim Brennan is flying high and has been tipped for
the head job and an office at the top of the ivory tower. But it is not easy to
escape the past and when his son Elliot is arrested on drugs charges and lands
in prison after breaking bail conditions, Jim is approached by men he thought
he had left behind. As threats mount, the question is, how far will Professor
Jim Brennan go to save his life?
