Hailed as “one of the most exciting and fully rounded talents to emerge from the Scottish scene” (BBC Radio 2), Lewis-born Gaelic singer Mischa Macpherson has captivated audiences worldwide with her tender and expressive performances—from Europe to Asia, Australia, and beyond. Her cultural authenticity and “voice soft as rain” (The Independent) have earned the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award and Gaelic Singer of the Year title, as well as widespread recognition both home and abroad. "A rare talent that pops up once in a generation.” (BBC Radio Scotland). Joining her for Celtic Connections is a line-up of some of Scotland’s finest musicians & special guests.

Sarah Markey is a talented Scottish musician, skilled in flute, harp, and vocals. A 2019 BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalist, her debut album "Leaving Lurgangreen" earned her an Up and Coming Artist nomination. This album showcases her creativity, blending Irish, Scottish, and Asturian influences, exploring themes of heritage and friendship.
