Pedal harpist, clàrsach player, collaborator, and Gàidhlig Speaker Ciorstaidh Beaton brings her work to the festival stage as part of Celtic Connections’ New Voices.
Originally from Kilmuir on the Isle of Skye, Ciorstaidh is a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. A skilful and versatile player, she has worked with a variety of orchestras and ensembles across the UK, including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Rogue Orchestra, and Scottish Opera.
Ciorstaidh is a BBC Radio 2 “Young Folk Award” finalist, winner of the Pan Celtic Festival open harp competition, and a Royal National Mod Gold Medalist for both clàrsach and piano competitions.
