Have you ever fancied trying out the guitar, or perhaps even a violin or flute? We can help!

We’re delighted to announce the Mitchell Library is joining the We Make Music Instrument Libraries project. It’s a new initiative designed to get musical instruments into public libraries across Scotland. You can borrow an instrument for free. It’s just like taking out a book.

Working in partnership with Music Broth we’ll stock a wide variety of instruments, from guitars, violins, ukuleles and more. These items will soon be added to our online catalogue.

We’re having a launch event on Wednesday 14th February 11am-4pm for children and young people under 25. We’ll have a selection of instruments available for you to pick-up-and play (and some to take home!). There will also be dedicated 45 minute workshops on the day from 12pm onwards to help get to grip with your instrument of choice. The launch will be drop-in, but spaces on the workshops will be limited, so make sure you arrive early to book a place.

Delivered in partnership between Glasgow Life and Music Broth.
Children and young people up to 25.
