  • A motion was presented to the House of Commons in January 2023 congratulating Celtic Connections on its 30th anniversary.
  • Celtic Connections 2022 won the award for Outstanding Cultural Event or Festival at the West Region Finals of the VisitScotland Thistle Awards.
  • Jasleen Kaur: an artist whose exhibition displayed at Glasgow Life's Tramway, using a vintage Ford Escort, worship bells and Irn-Bru to celebrate the Scottish Sikh community, won the Turner Prize 2024.

Sport

  • UCI Cycling World Championships 2023: Awarded Gold - Sports Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, NGBs (National Governing Bodies) and Rights Holders, and Bronze - Best Sports Event of the Year, at Sports Business Awards.
  • The World Athletics Indoor Championships: Outstanding Sporting Event at the VisitScotland Thistle Awards. Held in Glasgow in March 2024, the World Athletics Indoor Championships brought together elite athletes from around the globe to compete in a wide range of track and field events.
  • Glasgow was the first city to be named the European Capital of Sport for the second time in 2023.
  • Glasgow hosted the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships in 2023.
  • UCI Cycling World Championships 2023 awarded Gold: Sports equity, diversity and inclusion, NGB's (National Governing Bodies) and Rights Holders, at Sports Business Awards. 
  • Glasgow is the first UK city to be awarded UCI Bike City status.
  • Scotstoun Tennis Centre at Glasgow Club Scotstoun, awarded ‘Longevity Award’ for the success of the annual International Tennis Federation (ITF) men's and women's event which has been delivered by Tennis Scotland since 1998.

  • Voted best UK Convention Bureau at Meetings & Incentive (M&IT) Travel Awards for 17 consecutive years.
  • Number one city in the UK and 8th globally on the index of responsible tourism and events cities (Global Destination Sustainability Index).
  • Glasgow Life Tourism and Conventions won a regional VisitScotland Scottish Thistle Award for Climate Action.
  • Glasgow Convention Bureau won the ABPCO Partnership Award for the BritSpine conference 2023.

Libraries and Communities

  • Glasgow is a UNESCO Learning City in recognition for outstanding achievements in lifelong learning. In Glasgow education is not just a phase of life, but a continuous journey embraced by all citizens. 
  • Following the restoration work to the Granville Street façade of the Mitchell Library in 2022. The Mitchell Library won craftsmanship Award at the 2024 Natural Stone Awards.
